We seek reactions, when we kick down the door
of tradition, of precedent, of what came before
But I don’t like the accent, and I despise the decor
when challenged, you’re vapid, defenseless, and a bore
Armed with nothing but a feeling, you stand sure, as if on solid ground
while my teeth are gnashing, unsure of who I was before…
but in the cold light of reflection in a clear and simple calm
I seek reaction, just in a different form
think…
I’m going to sink
I’m going down
put me in back
turn me around
I’ve got a piece
I’m going to play
I’m getting burned
put me away

Well I can’t lie I’ve been a huge fan of all bands and projects that all led to this band, but if I had to pin a thought I’d say if the Minutemen and Fugazi had a child this is what it’d sound like!!!!

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!!
